In June 2013, the University of the Philippines Baguio and Tebtebba Foundation co-sponsored the 2013 International Seminar-Workshop on Indigenous Studies (ISWIS) which was held at the Legend Villas, Mandaluyong City, Philippines. With the theme “Reflections on Indigenous Studies: Taking Stock of Lessons from the Field,” the conference was attended by a total of 74 participants from different parts of the globe. It served as a venue for discussions on the critical issues that have tended to unsettle scholars, researchers, practitioners, and advocates.

This book contains the papers presented at the 2013 ISWIS; its primary aim is to continue the debates that surfaced in the 2013 ISWIS and to inspire new discussions in the field of Indigenous Studies.
